My baby 10 Months Milestones' CheckList

(oh oh, assessment time)

Physically and mentally

• Anticipates favourite moments, e.g. clapping parts in a song - Check!
• Remembers certain gestures and outcomes associated with them e.g. picking up keys indicates going out - When u give her a ball, she will throw it back to U. Check
• Perceives depth, e.g. may not be willing to crawl down stairs head first - in the midst of teaching her, for now, still head down first.. tsk tsk
• Walks while holding on to furniture - Check!
• May walk while holding onto your hands (let baby go barefoot at home but consider getting soft shoes for outings) - Check!

Language and emotions

• Communicates wishes by pointing - not yet, but she knows how to use her index finger to point.
• Responds to one or two familiar commands - bye bye, hi, tilt her head, arms up, throw, kiss
• May try to imitate a barking dog or passing car - neh,,
• Shows stronger separation anxiety - Check! Whenever we leave her alone in her cot, she will start to whine, she just want someone to be with her. But, she has never once cried when we send her to school =) Blessed! Did i mention we push her cot into our bedroom??!! *duh* (trying to save electric bill which is soaring sky high.. haiz, execuses execuses)

Feeding

It takes time for babies to use a cup without making a mess. Once your baby drinks more than she spills, try giving him/ her breastmilk in the cup.
Im pretty ok with the mess during her feeding time, she can put her finger into her mouth whilst eating and rub her face with her filthy hands. She can knock the Rusk on the floor, on the chair, on her head and make a mess out of it. Im cool with it..... for now.. she will get to enjoy her feeding time instead of me screaming my lungs out and getting upset over the mess... I'm rewarded with feeding her at ease :)

Sleep

At this age, babies typically sleep for 10 to 12 hours a night and take two daytime naps averaging about an hour and a half each.
I could only say her sleeping time is not fixed, and she naps for a mere an hr or so. She could last from 3pm all the way to 10pm.

Yeah.... quite a lot of milestones were acomplished! she's pretty well developed for a 10 months old baby. not too slow nor too fast. I am so proud.

By the way, her photos have been port over to http://ro.alvro.com/ Reia's dad has decided to change to another host since thebunnypatch was giving us problem - he paid USD120 for that. Im in the midst of migrating all the photos which is a painful procedure, as all the description will be erased and I have to start from scratch.. *arrgghh* pretty soon, this blog will move too......

The Bisphenol-A Debate

So What is BPA?

BPA is a component of epoxy resins that are used to line food cans and to make hard plastic polycarbonate bottles and containers, popularized by Nalgene and others. It leaches into food, water, and infant formula and has been detected in 93 percent of all Americans tested by the Centers for Disease Control. BPA raises special concerns because numerous studies have found it to be toxic at exposure levels equivalent to or even below the amounts detected in people. BPA is linked to breast and prostate cancer and neurobehavioral changes in offspring exposed in the womb.

Thus, if it leaching into liquids from baby bottles, arent we supposed to be worried???? hmm.. I wasnt really concerned or bothered by it, since the past generation babies have been drinking milk bottle made of polycarbonate!! and being a cheapo mama, i dont think i want to chg all the milk bottles (moreover, they are pretty new) ... Until my friend who's a SAHM and a BPA researcher 说了一句"一针见血"的话 ... "you can spent 100 over USD on her clothes why not the milk bottles" *ouch* ..

Thereafter, I have decided to read up more abt BPA (and force Reia's dad to read up as well) We gathered all sources, searching up and down, making sure the Ultimate milk bottles we're gg to get must be Certified BPA Free and must have a minimum standard of cute-looking bottles that could match my cute lit girl...

After Much contemplating, I've decided to change Reia's Milk bottles (in phases)
Presenting..... the NUBY

BPA free and is made of polypropylene

and it's pretty !!

this is the best i can do for my lit' girl

Luckily all her bowls, spoons are BPA Free..... :)

Baby Jumper Gym

Besides flashing cards, this is one of the session where they get to play ard in the gym area, exploring each and every obstacles, building up their lit' muscles

I was appalled when Alvin actually let her hang there without supporting her. Usually, he will support her weight whilst she's hanging. ....

hello.. she's only a 9 mth old baby!!
