So What is BPA?
BPA is a component of epoxy resins that are used to line food cans and to make hard plastic polycarbonate bottles and containers, popularized by Nalgene and others. It leaches into food, water, and infant formula and has been detected in 93 percent of all Americans tested by the Centers for Disease Control. BPA raises special concerns because numerous studies have found it to be toxic at exposure levels equivalent to or even below the amounts detected in people. BPA is linked to breast and prostate cancer and neurobehavioral changes in offspring exposed in the womb.
Thus, if it leaching into liquids from baby bottles, arent we supposed to be worried???? hmm.. I wasnt really concerned or bothered by it, since the past generation babies have been drinking milk bottle made of polycarbonate!! and being a cheapo mama, i dont think i want to chg all the milk bottles (moreover, they are pretty new) ... Until my friend who's a SAHM and a BPA researcher 说了一句"一针见血"的话 ... "you can spent 100 over USD on her clothes why not the milk bottles" *ouch* ..
Thereafter, I have decided to read up more abt BPA (and force Reia's dad to read up as well) We gathered all sources, searching up and down, making sure the Ultimate milk bottles we're gg to get must be Certified BPA Free and must have a minimum standard of cute-looking bottles that could match my cute lit girl...
After Much contemplating, I've decided to change Reia's Milk bottles (in phases)
Presenting..... the NUBY
BPA free and is made of polypropylene
and it's pretty !!
this is the best i can do for my lit' girl
Luckily all her bowls, spoons are BPA Free..... :)
