Reina's First Day in Infant care

Going thru' the 2nd time aint making things any better or easier.
Going thru' the 2nd time putting your child in the care of 'strangers' in an alien place just so cruel and hard to bear.
"Oh, they will learn to be independent" <- why do i need a baby to be independent when u know that they will be free to fly in time to come. For now, they long to stay at home and you put them in infant care, next time when u want them to stay at home, they will not. karma ah...... what comes around goes around.....

*The Day Before*
If you dont have any help and you are a working mom, you need to have a strong heart, mentally sound and physically healthy before you plan to have more than 1 kid. No joke, 2 kids is not funny! Going forward, i need to pack 2 bags!! Will blog in another post what i need to do every morning, that will explain why my eyebags have touched my cheeks.

/* Her Barang Barang */
- whole week of clothings (every mon)
- Pillow / bolster / Toys (every mom)
- Towel (daily)
- 5 Bottles of EBM (daily)

*First Day*

/*Take a Walk around her school*/

I accompanied her thruout and left when she's asleep. Need to show the teachers how to feed her and some of her "behaviour". For eg: she will suck her fingers when she's hungry etc.
Feeding part is the hardest - None of them can really feed her, and she only suckle ard 50ml and stop. The whole day from 9 to 5pm, she only drank in total 150ml!!!!!! Gosh
bad bad bad. Came home and direct latch on her. She drank until drunk!

First Day was alright, Most of the time Reina sits on the rocker alone, play by herself. When she fell asleep, they wld carry her into her cot.

/* Her 2nd Bed*/

/*Keep track on babies' feeding time, nap time, diaper change etc... */

/* her caregivers*/
/* most of the time, she will sit on the rocker and play on her own*/

/*just have to wait for her turn*/

** Second Day **
2nd day was chaotic, during the morning nap, all the babies were superb cranky and all began to cry at the same time. With only 2 teachers handling 8 crying babies, i could only stay outside and watched Reina cried. She just have to wait for her turn to be cuddled. I left with a heavy heart after she finally fell asleep. Went home and grumbled to my mom and cried... I told her to acc Reina during lunch time as it was just too painful to watch. My mom teared too and said she would see how, probably she wld quit after CNY. Ha... she said the same thing 3 yrs ago when Reia was put in the infant care intially too. 芮雅还不是这样生活了3年。

5 bottles of EBM - she only drank 2 bottles - total of 160ml. What a slight improvement :)

Tick tock tick tock

She's gg to infant care on the 17th and this girl is so not ready.
Oh Lord, please help Her

/*I dont want to go to school, I want my mummy*/

Firstly -
When she was just born, she cldnt really sit on the rocker for a min. Everytime u lay her down, she will start screaming. How to go infant care??? They are not gg to pick her up whenever she cries. Worrying..
Luckily, she began to build her patience as she grew older... and now she's able to sit longer by herself... play longer by herself =) Thank God!

Secondly -
I never thought Reina will reject bottle-feed. To me, sucking from bottles is a natural skill that a baby will possess. I heard babies reject latching but not bottle-feeding. When she was 3 weeks old, i introduced bottle-feeding to her, and of cos, she follows her sis, using NUK teats. She cried until mad...struggled, turned her head away, arched her back... So i thought, ok, perhapes she din like the fridge taste, next round, i wld give her the fresh BM. To no avail, she refused to drink. Tried to change various brand of teats... lastly she settled on medela (medela teat is so X)
Nevermind, anything for her, just as long as she wants to drink. This joy does not last long, every feeding time, she only suckle ard 20-30ml (in rare days, >50ml). No matter how i forced her, she just refused and began to look for my nipples. Thus, litres of milk was thrown away. How to go infant care???  How to survive?? Worrying.... i did a lit' prayer. Oh God please help her, she has to learn to drink from bottle. Time is running out.
Miraculously,  somehow, On last wednesday,  i decided to change back to NUK silicon teat. VIOLA, she gobbled down 50ml at one go, and cried for more, gave another 40ml, gobbled down without any fuss and cried for more, gave another 30ml, she decided she had enough. I threw away the milk with a smile *applause applause*.
Thereafter, feeding her was much "easier".
NUK - U are the chosen One!!

First Neb in 2011

Brought Reia to see PD today.
Her airway is small that caused the thick phlegm to be trapped inside and she cldnt cough it out. So no choice, neb is required to break the phlegm and another course of Antibiotics is inevitable.
The one that the GP gave was merely for the cure of throat and not the phlegmy part *sigh*

In Year 2008 - she had 2 neb
In Year 2009 - She had 1 neb
In Year 2010 - No record
In Year 2011 - She had 1.
Due to the clean record in Year 2010, she was given a "2nd chance" explained by the PD, else she could possibly develop into Asthma (high risk)

Grounded for a week
No Swimming, No playground - in the nut shell, no vigorous activities.
To prevent from getting Pneumonia
If she was in Pr 1, she wld be given one week MC from PE.
