Physically and mentally
• Experiments with concept of cause and effect - ??
• More observant of small objects - Check
• Able to see clearly across the room - Check
• Uses hands more confidently (usually in a raking fashion) to bring objects closer - Check
• Transfers objects from hand to hand - hmmm......... uncheck for now.
• Pushes away if he/ she dislikes what you are doing (wiping off drool, etc) - Check
• Plays with toes - double check. She excel in this cause she sucks her toes
• Sits with support - Check. Sitting Pretty (with aid of lots of pillows, of course.)
• Rolls over from stomach to back - She rolls from her back to stomach
• May begin teething - Woooo....• May be ready to wean - Woooo Woooo
Language and emotions
Tries to imitate sounds - No clear sounding of Ba Ba.... or Mom Mom... She will break into a bout of singing when she's in good mood.
Feeding
Solids should be introduced very cautiously. Signs that baby is ready to begin weaning include: Drinking 150ml x 5 daily
• Being able to hold the head up well - Check• Being interested in solid food - yet to show interest
• Having a good tongue reflex to push solid food in or out (to aid swallowing and prevent choking) - yet to try
• Being able to open mouth to receive a spoon - yet to try
