Disheartening

Today, went to fetch Reia from School. Her Teacher talked to me about Reia's performance in school.
Did not show much improvement, always very restless, did not play the toys properly, dont want to do her worksheet, always find execuses, very inattentive in class.

The Teacher even said, sometimes, there's specialist from their headquarter will come over to help those "Special needs" students. However, that is only for K1 and above students. She will see how she could ask the 'specialist' to observe Reia and give their advice. Haiz...

I know she has short concentration span, i thought she's still too young to focus. Now i think she's really show signs of  ADHD - Attention Deficit Disorder.

So what is ADHD?
We all know kids who can’t sit still, who never seem to listen, who don’t follow instructions no matter how clearly you present them, or who blurt out inappropriate comments at inappropriate times. Sometimes these children are labeled as troublemakers, or criticized for being lazy and undisciplined. However, they may have ADD/ADHD.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a disorder that appears in early childhood. You may know it by the name attention deficit disorder, or ADD. ADD/ADHD makes it difficult for people to inhibit their spontaneous responses—responses that can involve everything from movement to speech and attentiveness.
The signs and symptoms of ADD/ADHD typically appear before the age of seven. However, it can be difficult to distinguish between attention deficit disorder and normal “kid behavior.” If you spot just a few signs, or the symptoms appear only in some situations, it’s probably not ADD/ADHD. On the other hand, if your child shows a number of ADD/ADHD signs and symptoms that are present across all situations¾at home, at school, and at play¾it’s time to take a closer look. Once you understand the issues your child is struggling with, such as forgetfulness or difficulty paying attention in school, you can work together to find creative solutions and capitalize on strengths. The bottom line: you don’t have to wait for a diagnosis or rely on a medical professional to help your child.

Immediately, after reaching home. I reprimanded her, even took out worksheet and instructed her to finish writing before she could head down to the playground. She wrote one letter, and started to fidget, looked ard. I screamed at her and said Im gg to count to 5 for each letter. If she couldnt finish writing one letter within 5secs, Im gonna beat her arm! And I beat her Thrice before she started to focus and started to retreat everytime i raised my hand.

I am SICK!!!!
She needs HELP and so Do I

High High into the Sky

Since Last wed night, her fever has been soaring high. Ever since then, we have been feeding her profen as her temperature read was always > 38.5. In the end, i have to feed Profen - paracetemol - Profen - paracetemol for every 3 hrs to keep her fever down. Not sure why, but she hates puting the cooling patch on her forehead. no matter how we coaxed, she just refused to co-operate. However, she said sponging is ok. So no choice, thru the night, whenever her fever started to reach high 39, i wld start sponging her to bring down the temperature.

On Sat Night, she hit 40.2~ Asked hub whether should we bring her to hospital and have her checked. my zhu lao gong said, she's fine, still so active. Pissed! I told myself, the next temperature reading if she hits above 40 again, Im gg to drive to hospital myself!! On Sunday Morning, she hit 40.2 again! That's it, dragged him out and said Let's go hospital, period!

/*both kiddos still in their pyjamas*/

/*waiting to get her blood tested*/

Her Blood test result was normal, so we just have to keep on monitoring

Home Alone

Reia was running high fever for no apparant reasons, so high that we couldnt even bluff our way thru school. So no choice, someone got to stay at home. Hub volunterred so he had to send Reina to school (cannot handle both kiddos) whilst moi stayed at home with Reia waiting for hub to come home before i off to work.

8.20am, Hub called.
A: Reia still sleeping
Ro: Yes
A: ok, since she's still sleeping, u go to work first, Im coming back ard 10mins time.

Since Im pretty late at work, i went to check on her - Seems pretty deep sleep.
Turned on my Room TV chg to Disney channel, shut all windows, kept the lit stool, closed the toilet door (create a scene that someone is inside the toilet) and off i went to work feeling worrying leaving her alone in the house.
